Why do some people snore while others don't? Read this to find out

Almost everyone wonders why the person sleeping beside me and it get very annoying so to know the real reason continue reading

It gets very annoying when the person sleeping beside us is snoring, sometimes we even wonder if he/she is doing intentionally but that might not be the case.

The basic reason for the rumbling is tissue in and around the upper airways that, during the act of breathing, vibrates. Those vibrations are what produce the sound. It isn’t always the same body part vibrating—it can be the tongue, soft palate, uvula, tonsillar pillars, or other areas. And although it seems obvious, it’s worth noting that nobody snores when they are awake. This is because when you sleep, the muscles relax in your body, including the muscles in your neck and throat area. Relaxation decreases how much space is in your airways, which can sometimes lead to snoring.

That’s the biological background on snoring, but it doesn’t explain why some people snore and others don’t. Other factors can contribute; the most common is that there’s too much tissue in the throat and nasal areas. That’s why weight gain is often connected to snoring—many people who never snored in the past will begin to do so when they put on a few pounds. Gaining weight can add to the weight of your neck, which presses down on the throat during sleep.

So now you know why do people snore so now let us see some remedies for that

  • Having poor posture while sleeping can narrow your airway while a simple readjustment—say, going from your back to your side or raising your head slightly.
  • regular consumption of alcohol or tobacco, allergies, or nasal obstruction should be avoided.
  • Drink plenty of fluids. When you are dehydrated,it might cause you to snore.
Overall, get enough sleep, sleep on your side, avoid alcohol before bedtime and take a hot shower if nasal passages are clogged. These simple practices can make a huge difference in reducing snoring.

Do you think that you are a good multitasker? You might be wrong

Do you think that you are a good multitasker? You might be wrong

Do you feel that you are good at doing multiple tasks at the same time and have powerful brain than others then you might need to read this-

Researches have shown that human brain actually can't multitask, read the article to know more:

The short answer to whether people can really multitask is no. Multitasking is a myth. The human brain cannot perform two tasks which require high-level brain function at once. Low-level functions like breathing and pumping blood are not considered in multitasking, only tasks you have to think about. What actually happens when you think you are multitasking is that you are rapidly switching between two or more tasks.

The first is goal shifting. Goal shifting happens when you switch your focus from one task to another.

The second stage is rule activation. Rule activation turns off the rules (how the brain completes a given task) for the previous task and turns on the rules for the new task.

So when you think you are multitasking you are actually switching your goals and turning the respective rules on and off in rapid succession. The switches are fast (tenths of a second) so you may not notice them, but those delays and the loss of focus can add up.

Did you know that introvert and extrovert have different structure of brain?

Did you know that introvert and extrovert have different structure of brain?

We see many people around us some of them are extroverts while some are introverts but did you know that they actually have different structure of brain ,to know more continue reading the article -

Before going any further we'll see what are introverts and what are extroverts:

Introverts: a person predominantly concerned with their own thoughts and feelings rather than with external things.

Extrovert: a person predominantly concerned with external things or objective considerations.

Research completed over several decades has shown that the brains of introverts and extroverts are activated differently depending on their circumstances, and it has a lot to do with dopamine, a neurotransmitter that controls the brain's reward and pleasure systems.

Common knowledge dictates that introverts are quieter and tend to feel more energized from spending time alone, while extroverts are louder and gain reinforcement and energy from being with others. Extroverts often exhibit qualities of charm, charisma, and persuasion, while introverts tend to be creative and prefer to work alone.

Randy Buckner of Harvard University discovered that introverts tended to have larger, thicker gray matter in their prefrontal cortex — a region of the brain that is linked to abstract thought and decision-making — while extroverts had less gray matter. Buckner concluded that this might be accountable for introverts’ tendencies to sit in a corner and ponder things thoroughly before making a decision, and extroverts’ ability to live in the moment and take risks without fully thinking everything through (which has its cons and benefits, of course).

Can't get a song off your mind? Here's why

Can't get a song off your mind? Here's why

Are you singing a song repeatedly even when you are giving your exam or doing some important work ?If yes then please read the following article.

We all love listening to our favourite songs but when some song starts playing in our head repeatedly it can be annoying. So let's know why this happens

Before that we should know about what earworms are, don't worry earworms aren't real worms found in ears but it is a term used to refer to something that sticks in your mind subconsciously .

Most people report earworm songs as benign or pleasant. But others find them annoying or even maddening. Many researchers are working to find out why this happens.

While experts are starting to understand the common characteristics of earworm songs, they’re less clear on why these songs stick in our heads in the first place.Research has also shown that people with neurotic or obsessive-compulsive traits tend to experience earworm songs more frequently, and the songs tend to stick around longer.

There are some well-established ways to rid yourself of these perturbing bits of musical fluff.

Try finding a mentally demanding task and putting your mind on it usually shifts attention away from internal music.

Researchers also suggest that chewing gum can also help. “When a song is stuck in our heads, it’s almost like we’re singing along with it and if you make your mouth do something else like chewing gum, eating a meal or talking with a friend then that can kick out the earworm.”

So next time when a song starts playing in your head then don't worry its a common phenomenon. :D
